Wedding Prelude Music

There are many ways to go about deciding on your wedding prelude music.

First, it is important to consider your venue as some locations will have restrictions and rules.

If your ceremony is in a church make sure to speak with the clergy to find out about any rules the church may have regarding the music for wedding ceremonies.

If your ceremony is being held outdoors, find out if you need to register for a music/sound permit and discuss if there are any restrictions, such as, noise level or types of music.

For a very formal event, you will probably want to stay with the traditional prelude music and add a couple of the contemporary songs. If either mother has a favorite song, you might consider playing it during the seating of the mothers.

THE PRELUDE

These songs are usually played while the guests arrive and are being seated. The music is usually played for about 30 minutes before the ceremony starts.

A special song is also played during the seating of the mothers and grandmothers.
